Education Architecture
The practice established itself in the education sector and has designed and delivered schools, academies, sixth-form centres, colleges and university buildings for more than four decades.
Our education work ranges from new-build academies such as Excelsior in Newcastle and Discovery Special Academy in Middlesbrough, through to specialist teaching and research buildings for Durham, Newcastle, Teesside and Sunderland universities.
Briefing is where education projects are won or lost. One of our directors is a former teacher of mathematics, and the team is practised at translating curriculum and operational demands into a brief, and then into a building that works on an everyday level.
We work through the DfE framework and directly for trusts, local authorities and higher and further education estates teams, in both new-build and occupied-site phased delivery.
